About the book
How do I get others to do what I want them to do? How do I influence people so that things are implemented sustainably? How do I create a balance between motivation and manipulation? What general opportunities do I have as a manager to exert influence?
Stefan Bartel provides precise and helpful answers to these and other questions in his guide for managers.
Building on the psychology of influence, Bartel explains how managers should and can act today in order to take employees along and lead them. This applies to both one-on-one leadership situations and groups. In addition to rhetoric and body language, Stefan Bartel analyzes linguistic patterns in particular, clarifies their effect and offers better alternatives. Readers are also familiarized with methods of unfair dialectics so that they can deal with attacks with confidence.
The author provides detailed instructions for difficult management situations, such as criticism and appraisal interviews, which have already been successfully applied by thousands of people, as well as for the organization of team meetings.
Bartel’s book enables managers to successfully master the management tasks of the future and thus to enjoy the always exciting work of a manager.

Readers’ comments
“I would recommend this book to all managers. It doesn’t matter how experienced the managers are. The very young will learn a lot of new things while reading and the “old dogs” will realize that the routine means that elementary things are not applied in practice. Thanks to the clear structure, you don’t have to read the book from start to finish, but can jump in at any chapter. I had a lot of fun reading it!”

“I have known Mr. Bartel as a trainer since the beginning of 2012 and have benefited a lot from his seminars. I mainly use the book to re-read/deepen topics after the seminars and to prepare myself for situations in everyday working life.”
The book reproduces the training program very authentically and I can almost hear Mr. Bartel talking when I read it.
For me, it is a great, in-depth book/reference work to deepen and, above all, internalize the many inputs from the seminar.”
